I ordered 3 copies of The Secret Ingredient which has a wonderful message for my five granddaughters. One family lives in Alaska, another family lives in Texas, & the 3rd lives about 1/2 hour away, here in California.
I will be mailing them out soon for Christmas. I also loved the Pringle & Finn book, but since I only ordered one book, I hope to record their Nona (that's me) reading it, and then emailing it to them. Or uploading it onto thumb drives & sending them with the books.
When I was a child, we held a secular Vespers with a different theme every Sunday evening. I was proud that I got to read various selections quite often. I also have a small collection of children's books and these two are special enough to include.
The books, The Pengrooms and The Secret Ingredient, are both absolutely beautiful. The story and the illustrations are absolutely amazing. I got them to give to my daughter, who is 20, for Christmas as a surprise but I’m finding it very hard to part with them and so I may well have to purchase a second set to keep for myself because they are just so darn good.
